For road charging Technolution develops an On-Board-unit-concept based on location via satellite (GPS) and a smart card. This system guarantees a protected count of the kilometres driven differentiated by time and place.

Pay per driven kilometre
In road charging, current fixed charges, for example road tax, are converted into a tariff per driven kilometre. The On-Board Unit we developed for the car is fraud-proof and uses a combination of sensors to register accurately the number of kilometres driven.The technologies applied are:
- Global Positioning System (GPS)
- GPRS/GSM/SMS
- ISO 7816 based smartcard (Java Card / Multos)
- Security on the basis of Common Criteria - EAL4
- Gyro sensor / compass
- Data straight of the vehicle
